Richard Taylor
Upon this humble petition of Richard Taylor – (Son of John Taylor of the parish of St Gyles Without Cripplegate, Labourer) and the report of Sir William Stewart and Sir George Merttins, Knights and Aldermen that the petitioner was to bound Apprentice to William Haddock Citizen and Fruiterer and of that trade for seven years by indenture dated the sixth of April 1713 that be served him till the nineteenth of August 1717 and was then discharged by judgment in the outer Court and legally turned over to Thomas Wells of the same Company and trade that after he had served Wells about two years he failed and was a prisoner and suffered the petitioner to work at large for the remainder of his time being about a year that the petitioner from time to time gave the said Wells part of his earnings towards – his relief in prison and afterwards discharged him from his confinement It is ordered that the said Richard Taylor be admitted to the freedom of this City by redemption in the Company of Fruiterers paying unto Mr Chamberlain for this Cities use the sum of forty-six shillings and eight pence
